The richness of the pastures allows for the breeding of the esteemed Piedmontese cattle, of which the Bue Grasso - Fat Ox, is very famous, from which an excellent meat is obtained for the preparation of
“bollito misto / boiled meat” and many other traditional local dishes.
The widespread breeding of lambs and goats provides animals of an excellent quality, with a very delicate meat. Another very popular form of breeding is that of courtyard animals: rabbits, chickens, guinea fowls and turkeys. Special attention must be paid to the local game: hares, pheasants, wild boar and roe deer, all of which are “protagonists” in the Autumn menus in local inns and restaurants.
