The Regional Enoteca Acqui “Terme & Vino” was inaugurated in 1981, housed inside the cellars of palazzo Robellini, a beautiful 16th century building, just like most of the buildings found nearby in Borgo San Pietro. A characteristic setting in the old cellars, spread out in different rooms, where wooden beams and red bricks are the main features, along with rural traditional piedmontese furniture. A series of peasants tools are on display from the local wine-producing sector.

The Enoteca’s main aim is to promote the local wines, and to stimulate the wine producers towards constant improvements in wine-making techniques, along with perfection, conservation and quality of the final product. All the local D.O.C. (denomination of origin controlled) and D.O.C.G. wines (denomination oforigin controlled and guaranteed) from the region of Piedmont are on display: Barbera d’Asti, Barbera Monferrato, Moscato d’Asti, Asti Spumante, Dolcetto d’Ovada, Cortese Alto Monferrato, but most of all the local wines: Dolcetto d’Acqui and Brachetto d’Acqui;A wine tasting is possible for individuals and groups, and refreshments and banquets may also be organized, with particular attention paid to the local wines from the Alto Monferrato territory:

Each single tasting is accompanied by grissini, cheese, salami whereas sweet, dessert wines are paired with amaretti (local confectionery made with almonds). The Enoteca may also organize for groups, prior to a reservation:• an aperitif with pairing of local cheeses and salamis, stuffed vegetables, focaccia,lingua (a crunchy type of focaccia), grissini etc..• a guided wine tasting, comfortably sat down at the table with the assistance of aSommelier, accompanied by a detailed description of the wines and local produce.• Lunch or dinner for groups with typical dishes. GuaranteeAll of the D.O.C. and D.O.C.G. wines presented for admission in the Enoteca are validated by aTechnical Tasting Committee made up of members of the O.N.A.V. (National Wine tasters Organization) and A.E.I. (Italian Wine-Technicians’ Association).Only wines considered suitable are allowed to be put on display, tasted and purchased.
