Acqui – Castel Rocchero – Mombaruzzo – Alice Bel Colle – Strevi – Acqui Terme

For two-wheel lovers, a very panoramic itinerary, pedalling across the vineyard landscape awarded as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the land of grand DOC and DOCG wines, among which we must mention Brachetto d’Acqui, l’Acqui DOCG,  Dolcetto d’Acqui DOC.

The itinerary starts from the city centre; from the Municipality turn left and follow corso Roma, at the roundabout turn right and go straight on. Cross the railway crossing and continue towards Moirano (4km) a small hillside locality.  Continue cycling towards Castel Rocchero where a sea  of vineyards unfolds as far as the eye can see, with a view extending far across the hills towards Nizza and all the Alps, that enclose as a natural frame this beautiful natural scenario.  Continue cycling in the direction of Fontanile, where you’ll see in the distance the imposing nineteenth century church dedicated to San Giovanni Battista with its remarkable cupola dominates  the landscape.  Stop and have a break at the colourful Big Bench (direction Mombaruzzo) and enjoy the view before starting again.  Continue cycling along the vineyard landscape towards Quaranti and Alice Bel Colle, and enjoy a breath-taking view across all the surrounding countryside.  Before the village of Alice you’ll see “Bricco Oddone”  a small road of the right where the 15th century sanctuary della Fraschetta is, and opposite in the vineyards you’ll find the pink big bench called “del sole/ of the sun”. Return back on the main road and cycle towards the village of Alice and follow for Ricaldone. Before reaching the village turn right and follow the indications for Strevi, renown for the passiti wines of moscato and brachetto. Cycle along the ridge for a few km,  and you’ll arrive in the fascinating Valle Bagnario where you can visit the yellow big bench.

To return back to Acqui T. follow the strada della Maggiora, from the valle Bagnario
