Strada Acqui, 7 - Castel Rocchero

On the 16th June of 1953,  fifty-seven inhabitants from Castel Rocchero gathered in front of a notary, to each invest 1,000 precious liras of those times in the project of the wine Tower.

There was the desire to aim high, so they decided to build a five floor wine tower, in the centre of the municipality, where members could gather all their efforts and their grapes to produce the best wines of the area.

A tower that has become a symbol, an integral part of our name and present today as the protagonist in our logo. Its figure is unmistakable and stands out in the middle of the rows, the crests outlined by the vines on the extraordinary hills whose landscape was awarded in 2014 a World Heritage site, and officially became part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.  Climbing up the tower’s 108 steps, the view that unfolds is absolutely breath-taking, and extends as far as the can eye can see, across the surrounding vineyards, the Langa Astigiana hills, and on clear days you can admire the snow-capped Alps from the Monviso to Monte Rosa.

Our vineyards design the landscape for 300 hectares among the high hills of Nizza Monferrato and Acqui Terme: here we can interpret at their best all those varieties typically grown in this area of Piedmont: Barbera, Dolcetto, Grignolino, Cortese, Chardonnay, and of course Moscato d’Asti, Brachetto d’Acqui and Acqui Brut Rosè.

The new generations of winemakers are now working to give life to the experience of the founders, uniting new energy with the old wisdom, new technologies and contemporary methods to obtain very high quality wines.

We also offer events, meetings and walks among our wonderful hills!
