Visiting hours : every day from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., reservations are welcome. Prices: 12 € tasting, 15 € tasting and visit to the historic vineyards. In autumn and winter are organized guided truffle hunting activities in our private truffle-growing area.
The Borgo Moncalvo wine estate is nestled on a south facing hill, just behind the tiny village of Loazzolo, in a small portion of land of the Upper Monferrato with unique characteristics known as the Langa Astigiana.
Its vineyards stretch like a blanket along the outline of the land and the rugged hillside broken by stone steps and dry walls which reminds us of the toil al labour of our ancestors.
The soil, mostly calcareous, cultivated with difficulty and with dedication has become more viable by men of the past thanks to the construction of kilometres long walls, made in Langa stone, which allow the soil to hold up in some places on large terraces.
Ours has been a family business winery since its origins and is directed in the vineyard by Pierluigi, Graziella and the sons Andrea and Luca.
The vineyard is carefully tended at each stage, so obtain very high-quality grapes material favored of the exposure to noon and the sea wind blowing from the south.
Andrea is the oenologist and follows the winemaking process in every stage with great passion and an enviable spirit of innovation. Luca, is in charge of sales and contacts with foreign customers.
